Making of the Sandpainting lampshade.

In this video, the sides of the sandpainting are taped with sticky tape. Then the rings are positioned on the top and bottom of the lampshade. The rings are rolled on straight. Once the sandpainting is rolled, the glue is added to the paper along the middle, top and bottom of the piece. Then the light fixture is assembled and the little feet are placed onto the base legs.

This is how I start to create the sandpaintings! I gather the sand onto the paper. I leave them to dry in the sun.

Sandpainting Poster

‘Sandpainting Poster’ was born from a commission. The piece was created to fit in a music studio. The circular shape was inspired from the vinyl records.

I added phosphorescence medium to allow for it to glow in the dark.
